They told me that customers go wild over anything new and sometimes they randomly out out an unusual flavor just to see, so stop by or call to see what’s on offer. The kissable cupcake, which I’ve blogged before, has peppermint frosting and was a seasonal cupcake but is now available daily. All cupcakes are still the best bargain in town, $1.50 each. My posts may be light today as we’re heading to Philadelphia for our cupcake business class (1-4, see www.meetup.com/cupcake for details).

They’re by Madison, Wisconsin custom cupcake company Cupcakes-a-Go-Go , via Facebook , where they wrote: We have a chocolate cupcake topped with creme de menthe ganache, kissed with mint cream cheese frosting, and a chocolate mint Oreo cupcake, also topped with our yummy mint cream cheese frosting. These are SO delicious! We will also be featuring our Guinness Stout chocolate cupcake with bourbon glaze this week! CakeWalk is a weekly column by Mary Ann Porch dedicated to every baker who has ever struggled to achieve the right consistency with their icing, unsuccessfully searched for the perfect cupcake topper or just wants to learn something new. Because with a few helpful tips, cupcakes are a cakewalk. As mentioned before, food blogging is a hobby for me as in I don’t really make any money from it. The gratification that I’ve finally found an outlet that lets me express myself as well as create physical things (cakes, anyone?)is enough. Everyone, I know, makes left-over turkey dishes ranging from soup to turkey pot pies to …… Here is an interesting, and very good if I may add, Turkey Enchilada dish. —————————— Left-Over Turkey Enchiladas Ingredients: 2 T Olive Oil 1 sm Onion, chopped 1½ c Turkey, cooked and shredded ¾ c Mexican blended cheese 16 oz Salsa, homemade or otherwise 4 oz Cream Cheese, room temperature 8 med Corn or Flour Tortillas Directions: 1. Pre-Heat the oven to 350°F 2. Place 2 T Olive Oil in skillet. Add the onion and sweat for 4 to 5 minutes until tender. Add the turkey, ½ cup cheese, ¾ cup salsa and the cream cheese. Heat and stir for 2 to 3 minutes or until cheeses are melted. 3. Spoon a scant 1/3 cup of the turkey mixture into the center of each tortilla and roll up. 4. Place in a 13

So in an effort to right this grievous wrong, I have adapted a traditional Christmas cake—the Bûche de Noël, or the Yule Log—for Thanksgiving. Do pumpkin pies have marzipan drumsticks? Yeah, didn’t think so. The November version starts with pumpkin cake rolled with rich cream cheese filling, and gets even better when liberally slathered with chocolate cream cheese frosting and finished off with sweet marzipan detailing. Perhaps this all sounds like a bit much, but I assure you, one bite of the Bûche de Thanksgiving will allay such fears.
