Strawberry cream cheese frosting cupcake Originally uploaded by Rachel from Cupcakes Take the Cake A strawberry cupcake with strawberry cream cheese frosting from Sugar Sweet Sunshine on New York’s Lower East Side. They told me that customers go wild over anything new and sometimes they randomly out out an unusual flavor just to see, so stop by or call to see what’s on offer. The kissable cupcake, which I’ve blogged before, has peppermint frosting and was a seasonal cupcake but is now available daily. All cupcakes are still the best bargain in town, $1.50 each. My posts may be light today as we’re heading to Philadelphia for our cupcake business class (1-4, see www.meetup.com/cupcake for details).

Lemon line cupcake at Cupcakeland

Lemon line cupcake at Cupcakeland Originally uploaded by Rachel from Cupcakes Take the Cake I stopped by Cupcakeland in Williamsburg, Brooklyn today and was so impressed with their lemon lime cupcake, a new one for me. The frosting tasted basically like a lemon and lime pudding, and the cake was moist and a great combo. There was something really addictive about the sour sweetness. I was a bit skeptical about the combo as I like lemon and lime but hadn’t had them together but it totally worked. $2.25 each these are a bargain (for NYC). Flavors rotate.
